  • We’ve released additional resources related to FDA’s new, proposed Food Traceability Rule. Check them out, become informed, & provide us with your feedback. We CAN do this, together. https://fda.gov/food/cfsan-constituent-updates/fda-releases-additional-resources-related-food-traceability-proposed-rule… #traceability
  • Tanimura & Antle is recalling packaged single head romaine lettuce due to possible contamination with E. coli. The firm is recalling based on results from product sampling & analysis by Michigan Department of Health and Human Services laboratory. https://go.usa.gov/x7XKP
  • Officials in Michigan report the strain of E. coli recovered from the product sample is highly related genetically to E. coli causing two recent illnesses in Michigan.
  • Consumers, restaurants & retailers, should not eat, sell or serve recalled Tanimura & Antle brand packaged single head romaine lettuce with a pack date of 10/15 or 10/16. We are actively investigating with our partners & will provide additional information as it becomes available
  • It is important to note that the E. coli strain identified with this product is NOT related to either outbreak strain that FDA reported investigating on 10/28. FDA continues investigating those outbreaks as well.
