- FDA has issued a draft guidance encouraging food manufacturers to voluntarily declare sesame in the ingredient list on food labels. Many Americans are allergic to sesame & they need the ability to quickly identify products with sesame. https://go.usa.gov/x7RgV
- While most products declare sesame as an ingredient, there are times when sesame is not required to be declared, such as when used as a flavor or spice. Also tahini is made by grinding sesame, but not all consumers know this.
