  • ALERT: FDA, CDC, & state partners have linked an outbreak of illnesses caused by Cyclospora to certain store brand packaged & labeled ‘garden salad’ products from Hy-Vee, ALDI and Jewel-Osco, predominantly in Midwestern states. http://go.usa.gov https://go.usa.gov/xwp8R
  • We’re working with the companies to determine the source of the products, but in the meantime, we are issuing a public warning to consumers to avoid the identified products to prevent additional infections.
  • FDA continues to stand ready to respond to outbreaks of foodborne illness and we will update consumers as our investigation continues.

@SecretarySonny

  • Producers need all the tools in their toolbox to produce the world’s food, fuel, and fiber. This reprieve by the ninth circuit is great news for farmers. https://t.co/PQx0hR0P9J?amp=1
  • Stopped by @FoodBankRockies with @SenCoryGardner to see the important work these folks are doing to feed Americans in need. Whether that’s through @USDA’s normal nutrition programs like TFAP or our Farmers to Families Food boxes, Coloradans in need have access to nutritious food

  • FDA advises consumers not to use any hand sanitizer manufactured by Eskbiochem due to the potential presence of methanol, which can be toxic when absorbed through the skin or ingested: https://go.usa.gov/xwp3c
  • Consumers who have been exposed to hand sanitizer containing methanol should seek immediate treatment for potential reversal of toxic effects of methanol poisoning. FDA recommends consumers dispose of these hand sanitizers immediately in appropriate hazardous waste containers.
  • FDA remains vigilant and will continue to take action when quality issues arise with hand sanitizers. We encourage health care professionals, consumers and patients to report adverse events or quality problems experienced with use of hand sanitizers to FDA’s MedWatch program.
