  • The FDA is aware of reports that China will begin testing foods (particular produce, seafood and meat) for COVID-19. There is currently NO evidence of the transmission of COVID-19 through food and there are no known or suspected cases linked to food. https://www.fda.gov/emergency-preparedness-and-response/coronavirus-disease-2019-covid-19/covid-19-frequently-asked-questions#food
  • We continue to review all available science as we assess the virus that causes COVID-19. Following standard hygiene practices, safe food handling, and using cooking practices that protect us from foodborne illness remain important. https://www.fda.gov/food/buy-store-serve-safe-food/safe-food-handling
  • RT @GS1Connect: “The need to digitize the food system will only get stronger.” @FrankYiannasFDA @US_FDA shares the lessons learned from #COVID19 and how to create a more resilient food #supplychain#GS1ConnectDigital
  • We released this video at the start of the pandemic, but it remains true today. There continues to be NO evidence of food being associated with the transmission of COVID-19. https://go.usa.gov/xvrsp

  • @USDA‘s Food Purchase and Distribution Program represents just one of the many ways USDA is working hard to fulfill its mission to “Do Right and Feed Everyone.”

@DrMayneFDAFood
