  • Making sure that parents and caregivers have access to both safe and available infant formula remains a top priority for the FDA, and our teams are working night and day to help make that happen.
  • We know Abbott is working quickly to assess the damage and will be reporting its progress to us in the days ahead. Once the company establishes a plan, FDA will be back in the facility working to ensure that they can restart producing safe and quality formula products quickly.

@SecVilsack

  • I am glad to see the House is considering a number of @USDA discretionary programs aimed at making the meat and poultry industry fairer for America’s ranchers and producers. I am hopeful a bipartisan group will pass these programs and send to the Senate for consideration.
  • I am grateful to have met with @AminaJMohammed and learn how the UN has been coordinating advocacy and decision making amongst its members to fight food insecurity around the globe. Our allies and coalitions are necessary in ensuring global food security.
  • I met with @UNReliefChief yesterday to discuss ways @USDA can expand its reach of humanitarian action and effectiveness around the world. We understand food security is both a short and long-term problem. The work we do today will benefit us all in the long term.
  • In my meeting with @USAmbUN today, one thing was abundantly clear: Putin’s unprovoked war is driving global food insecurity. We must work together to help solve this urgent problem.
  • I’m in New York at the @USUN to participate in meetings focused on global food security. American farmers are on the frontlines of the response to Putin’s unprovoked aggression in Ukraine. @USDA is working to ensure our producers have the tools they need to do the job.

@HHSGov

  • Operation Fly Formula is transporting nearly 13 million 8-ounce bottle equivalents of infant formula to the U.S. by June 19. @SecBecerra and HHS remain focused on getting #formula into the hands of parents and caregivers as quickly and safely as possible.

@FDA_ORA

  • #FDAORA has and will continue to monitor #imports of #InfantFormula to help facilitate the entry of authorized infant formula, while being vigilant towards fraudulent and unauthorized product distribution in the U.S.
