About the Author: Joseph Corby
Joseph Corby worked for the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets for 37 years retiring in 2008 as the Director of the Division of Food Safety and Inspection. He was Association of Food & Drug Officials’ executive director from 2008 to 2018. When Joe stepped away from AFDO as its leader, he took up the challenge of completing the prior AFDO history book that ended in 1959. Joe’s tireless efforts for getting it right and making sure people have been recognized for their part in AFDO’s history makes this book the perfect way to mark the Association’s 125th anniversary in 2021. Joe continues to be a senior advisor for AFDO, and he serves on the Board of Directors for the International Food Protection Training Institute [IFPTI]. Joe has been an outspoken advocate for the advancement of a nationally integrated food safety system and continues to work with numerous groups and associations in support of this cause
