Seafood HACCP trainer information
SHA and AFDO have worked together to create this page for trainers to explore course registration, trainer certification, and other trainer related information. Please email haccp@afdo.org with any additional questions or concerns.
Trainer course registration
There are various SHA related courses available for trainers to teach. All Seafood HACCP Alliance (SHA) and AFDO training courses MUST be submitted 20 calendar days prior to the course start date AND be approved prior to the start date of the course for Course Completion Certificates to be issued as stated in the Standard Protocol or as stated in the Virtual Protocol.
Choose the option below that best fits the type of course you need to register.
Please submit your course applications no later than 20 calendar days prior to your course start date. If your course is not approved before your course start date, course certificates will not be issued to the participants.
For in-person courses
- HACCP (16 contact hours)
- SCP (6.5 contact hours)
- Segment II (6.5 contact hours)
For virtual courses
- Virtual Segment II (6.5 contact hours)
- Virtual SCP (6.5 contact hours)

Trainer resources
Course conclusion
At the conclusion of your course, please email the Instructor Worksheet Form to haccp@afdo.org. Include your course number in the title of the email or reply to the course approval email you received from the AFDO office. Please note that this document MUST be sent to the AFDO office in electronic format for importation into the main HACCP database. Do not alter any of the field names and please type the names exactly as the students want them to appear on their Certificate. The email address should be where the Certificates are to be emailed. If the student does not have an email address, please indicate this. The Certificate will be mailed to the address provided by the student.

Course documentation
The following documents are provided to the supervisory instructor upon approval of a course. It is the responsibility of the supervisory instructor that all documentation is completed in full and emailed to haccp@afdo.org in a timely manner following the conclusion of the course. These documents are templates so feel free to download a copy to keep on file.
- Must have a copy of the Course Completion Notice email from Cornell University (SEGMENT TWO ONLY)
