New: Outbreak Investigation of Shiga Toxin-producing E. coli & Salmonella: Sprouts (August 2026)
Updated: Outbreak Investigation of Salmonella: Sprouts (September 2026)
- 9/24 update: “As part of this investigation, officials in Washington State collected and tested samples of Evergreen Fresh Sprouts-brand broccoli sprouts collected from a local grocery store and a sick person’s home. Both sprout samples tested positive and whole genome sequencing (WGS) analysis conducted by state partners and FDA showed they matched the same Salmonella Bovismorbificans strain that made people sick in this outbreak. This product was included in the recall and is no longer available for sale.
FDA is continuing its investigation to determine the source of contamination and if other products of concern may be on the market.”
