HFP Constituent Update: FDA Takes Further Steps to Remove Outdated Authorizations for Color Additives in Food
- The FDA is issuing a final order revoking the authorized use of Orange B as a color additive in food and is proposing to revoke the authorized use of Citrus Red No. 2 as a color additive in food.
Outbreak Investigation of Salmonella: Moringa Leaf Powder (January 2026) – Summary of investigation; CDC has declared the outbreak over.
- FDA and state partners from Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin collected finished product and ingredient samples from sick people’s homes and firms in the supply chain. A total of 12 samples tested positive for Salmonella, and 11 samples detected at least one of the outbreak strains of Salmonella during whole genome sequencing analysis.
