- Last week, Under Secretary Dr. Emilio Esteban gave remarks at the National Turkey Federation’s Technical and Regulatory Committee Meeting. He highlighted the @USDA’s support of small and midsized producers and focused on FSIS’ work to reduce foodborne illness from Salmonella in poultry products. He also covered FSIS’ collaboration with @USDA_ARS on studies to prevent, detect and quantify Salmonella in turkeys, as well as other important regulatory updates. USDA is committed to supporting small and midsized meat and poultry processers. FSIS prioritizes listening and communicating with producers on how we can best assist these organizations to grow and expand their businesses while meeting regulatory requirements.
