Produce Safety

The adoption and implementation of the Produce Safety Rule as part of the Food Safety Modernization Act brings the first ever regulatory focus on produce farms. The rule establishes, for the first time, science-based minimum standards for the safe growing, harvesting, packing, and holding of fruits and vegetables grown for human consumption. AFDO is committed to connect with NASDA, FDA, states, academia, and the produce industry to collaborate on topics, needs, and guidance.
