This page provides access to multiple editions of the State Food Safety Resource Survey results. It outlines the survey’s role in quantifying state and local food safety efforts and influencing federal legislation, with downloadable reports and infographics available.
The State Food Safety Resource Survey represents a quantitative view of the food safety efforts performed by state and local regulatory agencies during a 12-month period. The survey has greatly helped AFDO in its representation of state food safety programs during testimony in the nation’s capitol, while assessing proposed legislation for federal food safety, and providing information to federal legislators and their staff members who are actively pursuing this legislation. According to Joseph Corby, “The results clearly demonstrate the critical importance of including the enormous food safety efforts of state and local government into a national food safety system.”
The Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO) is a regulatory organization that connects food and medical-products safety stakeholders and impacts the regulatory environment by shaping sound, science-based rules, law, regulations, and sharing best practices that protect public health.
