About
Estimating the number of illnesses caused by foodborne pathogens is critical for allocating resources and prioritizing interventions.
In a free webinar at 1 p.m. ET on Thursday, April 24, Dr. Elaine Scallan Walter, professor of epidemiology with the Colorado School of Public Health, will present new estimates of domestically acquired foodborne illnesses, hospitalizations, and deaths in the United States caused by seven major pathogens in 2019.
These updated estimates use surveillance data and other sources, adjusted for underreporting and underdiagnosis, and can inform policy and direct food safety interventions.
CEUs are not offered for this presentation.
