Jennifer Hardy-Tindle

Jennifer Hardy-Tindle is the Training Director for AFDO. Her learning and development career has spanned more than 24 years. The first 20 years were spent working for a Fortune 50 insurance company and the last four years were in the food safety industry. Hardy-Tindle’s vast experience includes: instructional design, coaching, performance consulting, project management, facilitating/presenting (in-person and virtual), and anything else that needed to be created or accomplished to achieve stellar project objective results. She is passionate about personal development and is certified in Myers-Briggs and DISC. Hardy-Tindle believes “one size does not fit all” when it comes to learning and believes in designing and creating engaging learning experiences/solutions that ignite curiosity in learners and challenge their current way of thinking and performing.

Natalie Adan

Natalie Adan

Natalie Adan is originally from Atlanta, Georgia, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology from Georgia Southern University. She works for the Georgia Department of Agriculture as the Deputy Chief of Operations where she assists in the daily management and support of the departments regulatory operations including Food Safety, Laboratories, Animal Industries, Ag Inputs, Structural Pest Control, Plant Protection, Fuel & Measures, Markets, and Licensing Division.

Adan is committed to helping develop and implement a fully integrated food safety system rooted in public health principles and focused on prevention. She completed the International Food Protection Training Institute’s Fellowship in Food Protection Program in 2011 and actively participates in many food safety associations.

Chris Peasley

Georgia Department of Agriculture

Chris Peasley

Peasley is a 30-year veteran of the retail food industry. His retail experience encompasses time as a retail manager for the world’s largest retailer, a small regional organic cooperative, and the United States’ largest grocer. Prior to his retail career, Peasley spent six years in the food service industry as a sous chef. In February of 2018, he was hired by the Georgia Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety Division as its Retail Food Program Manager, a role he holds to this day.

Veronica Bryant

Veronica Bryant

Veronica Bryant is the Environmental Health (EH) Preparedness and Outbreak Coordinator for the North Carolina Environmental Health Section within the NC Division of Public Health, and she has more than 15 years of experience in state and local public health. In her current role with NC Public Health, she is responsible for providing training and technical assistance for local environmental health specialists regarding special events, outbreak investigations, and emergencies. Bryant also provides assistance to both local health departments and industry partners for specialized process and variance questions.

Tom Nerney

Tom Nerney

Tom Nerney is currently employed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as a Retail Food Specialist in the Office of Regulatory Affairs, Office of State Cooperative Programs. From 2010 to 2017, he worked as an Investigator and Food Specialist for the FDA, New England District. In this capacity, Nerney conducted inspections and investigations of all types of food manufacturing firms in the U.S. and abroad.

From 1999 to 2010, he worked for the Rhode Island Department of Health, Office of Food Protection as a Compliance Evaluation and Standardization Officer and was an FDA Certified Inspection / Training Officer for retail food. Prior to working as a regulator, he spent 15 years working in the food industry, holding many positions, including director of food services for an international contract management company.

Tara Edwards

Southern Nevada Health District

Tara Edwards

Tara Edwards has 10 years of experience with the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD). In her current position as a Senior Environmental Health Specialist (EHS) in the Regulatory Support Office’s (RSO), she reviews Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) plans and waivers (variances). In addition, she often accompanies and advises other EHS’s on inspections of facilities conducting special processes. As a part of RSO, Edwards routinely trains new EHS’s in inspection procedures for food establishments and, as an SNHD Standard, she is also responsible for standardizing experienced food inspectors. In addition to her work at SNHD, Edwards has been a NEHA contracted instructor for FD312, Special Processes at Retail, since 2019. Prior to her service with the SNHD, she was a research microbiologist at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).

Troy Huffman

Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment

Troy Huffman

Troy joined the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment in November of 2015. Prior to becoming the retail food program manager for the State of Colorado Troy worked for the Nebraska Department of Health & Human Services for 24 years. As a state delegate and executive board member of the Conference for Food Protection, Troy has enjoyed participating in the process to help develop the food code into the document it is today, for almost 20 years. Hobbies of skiing, hiking and camping in the Colorado mountains and scuba diving keep Troy busy during his time off.

Adam Inman

Adam Inman

Adam Inman is the Assistant Program Manager for the Kansas Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Lodging Program. He served as a co-chair of the Retail Food Committee of the Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO); co-chair of the AFDO Package Labeling Ad-Hoc Committee; Council I member for the 2023 Conference for Food Protection (CFP); a member of multiple CFP committees, and Secretary/Treasurer for Partners with a Common Purpose.

Inman served as a board member for the Manufactured Foods Regulatory Program Alliance from 2013 to 2018 and was chair in 2016-2017. He was honored as a 2012-2013 International Food Protection Training Institute Food Protection Fellow and participated in AFDO’s Junior Board program in 2013.
