He's worked at Clorox, Dial, and GOJO, formulating consumer products and serving as hygiene science ambassador for PURELL. With >70 patents and >50 publications, he advances hygiene science and food safety.

Dr. Donald W. Schaffner is Extension Specialist in Food Science and Distinguished Professor at Rutgers University, serving as Department Chair. His research focuses on handwashing, cross-contamination, and quantitative microbial risk assessment. A Fellow of four professional organizations and former IAFP president (2013-2014), he co-hosts Food Safety Talk and Risky or Not podcasts.
