Regulating Tattoo Ink and PMU Webinar

Start July 13, 2020

On Demand

Tattoo ink and permanent makeup outbreaks going back 10 years or more and the growing popularity of tats and permanent makeup have prompted FDA to adopt new policies regulating tattoo ink and PMU. The AFDO Body Art Committee is promoting improved safety of Tattoo Ink and Permanent Makeup through two charges. One charge involves submission of a color additive petition for TiO2, one of the most prominent pigments used in tattoo ink and PMU. The second charge is to create guidelines for sterilizing tattoo ink and PMU. These charges and other issues impacting tattoo and PMU artistry will be presented.
