Evaluating Active Managerial Control (AMC) Training Methods (Limited to 20 Participants) This session offers the best known science with the best-known professionals excelling at retail food safety! Active Managerial Control (AMC) is the purposeful incorporation of specific actions or procedures by industry management into the operation of their business to attain control over foodborne illness risk factors. It embodies a preventive rather than reactive approach to food safety through a continuous system of monitoring and verification. What can you control? What can you influence? Get those answers here all day Friday, June 26, 2020.

On Saturday morning, June 27,  the one-of-a-kind 2020 Active Managerial Control 4-Hour Workshop that takes real world experiences to the next level will be offered. We answer the question, “How do you know Active Managerial Control is a part of the food safety culture in a retail food establishment?” This session also defines policy, training, and verification as it applies to Active Managerial Control. Then we take real world experiences and apply Active Managerial Control including coaching techniques and best practices. This activity driven workshop addresses, “What works and what can you do today to apply Active Managerial?” following this workshop. In the last phase of this workshop, we will have a robust discussion of protecting public health up to and including legal action based on a “pattern of non-compliance.”

Also on Saturday morning, June 27, Mutual Reliance: Utilization of State Lab Analytical Packages will be offered. FDA utilizes state regulatory data as an analytical foundation for FDA-directed regulatory actions. The utilization of state analytical data has grown in the past few years, promoted by the Partnership for Food Protection Mutual Reliance initiatives that are increasing the submission of state analytical lab packages to FDA. This seminar will provide insights into the analytical package system and its related processes, mutually acceptable human and animal programs, methods of sample collection, analysis, analytical package requirements, and associated compliance/regulatory issues. Perspectives from stakeholders such as FDA Compliance, State Liaisons, and Divisions, as well as the state officials will be provided.
