Background
This is the updated version of the directory previously located on the FDA - Division of Federal-State Relations web site. This directory with its interactive capabilities is a primary communication tool that will enhance the effort for integrating the national food safety system. FDA funding and support for this updated version is through a cooperative agreement between FDA - Division of Federal-State Relations and AFDO. The latest version compiled by AFDO includes the contact information of state and local regulatory officials involved with food, animal feed, animal health, and food defense functions. AFDO will continue to update this
information quarterly.
AFDO's Board of Directors believes the availability of the Directory is exceedingly timely given the FDA's recent pronouncement that they would like to work more closely and collaboratively with state and local government officials in order to meet rising food safety challenges. AFDO has long supported the concept of integrating government food safety resources at all levels as an appropriate action and response to food safety concerns. Most recently AFDO has provided testimony on Capitol Hill on this matter and has partnered on a grant through George Washington University to enhance the roles of state and local government agencies in an integrated food safety system.
Displaying Contact Information
All contacts are initially displayed in quick view, which includes full name, title, agency, email, program area, jurisdiction, and FDA region/district. To view complete contact details simply click on the person's name.
No Email Address
If a position is vacant or an individual has not provided us with a valid email address an invalid email is displayed as a placeholder. The directory uses emails as unique identifiers and requires each contact has an assign email. All invalid email addresses will be displayed as [anything]@no-email.org. Users can still click on the contact's name to display any additional contact information like a mailing address or phone number.
