  • We hope to work with our partners to help producers incorporate biobased products and grow circular economies. We’re working to create innovative ways to help producers generate income that is re-invested in rural America and beneficial to the environment.
  • The Bioproduct Pilot Program is designed to support the development of biobased products and help lower carbon footprints. This program will increase the use of renewable materials and help farmers turn waste products into value-added products that drive economic development.
  • I spoke with a group of Iowa producers and industry leaders this afternoon about ways the Biden Administration is creating new revenue streams for farmers. Thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, @USDA is a creating a new pilot program to support bioproduct innovation.

@US_FDA

  • The FDA will continue to dedicate all available resources to help ensure that safe and nutritious infant formula products remain available for use in the U.S. and will keep the public informed of progress updates.
  • About 18,677 cans of formula produced by Abbott Nutrition (Ireland) will be imported. That amounts to about 35K pounds, or about 535K full-size, 8-ounce bottles. The products are expected to be available in mid-July.

@SecVilsack

  • Pleased to announce @usdafsa has issued nearly $4 billion in Emergency Relief Program payments in less than a month. Our streamlined implementation process has helped reduce the financial burden farmers and producers have faced due to natural disasters.
  • Producers who have not yet done so have until July 22 to sign up for the Emergency Relief Program. We know farmers and ranchers have busy schedules. Our county office staffs will work with you to make the application process as easy as possible https://fsa.usda.gov/programs-and-services/emergency-relief/index
  • I joined @RepCindyAxne in Minburn this afternoon at Nelson Family Farm to discuss @USDA‘s Emergency Relief Program. @RepCindyAxne has been a vocal proponent of ensuring Iowa producers who suffered crop losses due to derecho and natural disasters are eligible for disaster relief.
