FDA
Dockets
- FDA-2019-P-4670, Response from FDA denying petition to amend 21 CFR § 101.9 (c) (6)(i) to include “arabinogalactan” in the list of dietary fibers stated as part of the definition of dietary fiber.
Ed. Note: FDA’s denial focuses on the fact that while the 3 cited studies all evaluated ResistAid compared to maltodextrin, other active ingredients in RestAid could impact the endpoint, specifically falvonoids. Therefore, “[w]ithout controlling for these flavonoids, it is not possible to scientifically evaluate the independent physiological effect of arabinogalactan on the immune function endpoints measured in the studies.”
