  • [Note: FDA is conducting food safety consultations of two new canola seed varieties from companies BASF and Nuseed that contain low levels of genetic material.  FDA has concluded that it has no questions about the safety of the varieties of canola seed, and that the new proteins expressed in the canola are not likely to be allergic to humans and are not toxins to people or animals].
