- UPDATE: Investigation expanded. Add’l strains of #Salmonella identified in multi-state outbreak linked to #kratom products. FDA continues to advise consumers to avoid kratom & kratom-containing products. http://go.usa.gov/xnFJK
- Multistate outbreak of salmonella infections linked to kratom products continues to expand to 4 strains. 25 products have tested positive for salmonella; 87 people have been sickened in 35 states. Consumers are urged not to consume kratom. https://go.usa.gov/xnFeJ
- We believe grapes and hops for wine and beer would qualify for a commercial processing exemption under the produce safety rule and we are looking at ways to reduce the recordkeeping burden. #FSMA
- I sent a letter to vintners and brewers, @NapaVintners @BrewersAssoc @CAWG_GROWERS, letting them know we are addressing their concerns about certain Produce Safety Rule recordkeeping requirements.
