FDA Provides Update on Investigation into Potential Connection Between Certain Diets and Cases of Canine Heart Disease

- #FDA has been working closely with our investigative partners to understand a potential link between diet And dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) in dog breeds not normally affected by the disease. This is a complex and ongoing investigation, and we will update as we learn more.
- We are analyzing diets, testing affected animals and studying nutritional factors potentially connected to DCM. We are not recommending a diet change at this time. Pet owners should work with their vets on an appropriate diet for their dog: https://go.usa.gov/xEErc
