Food Committee

About the committee

This committee exists to assist AFDO membership in establishing policies, postures, and opinions related to food safety issues. The committee serves AFDO by drafting positions, providing technical assistance to the Laws and Regulations Committee, advising membership of current issues, and representing AFDO at selected meetings.

Committee Charges

Charge 1

Construct a two-hour committee session during the allotted committee time spot with a final agenda for submission no later than March 1, 2021.

Charge 2

Compile completed research for the model guidance on the Regulation of non-amendable species.

Charge 3

Work with the Retail Food Committee to create a 1-page fact sheet on Kratom. Provide them examples of what states can do around sampling and enforcements related to Kratom. Coordinate sampling efforts where all states sample at the same time.
