AFDO Virtual Access
Welcome to Virtual Access!
Virtual Access is designed specifically for regulatory (government) field-level personnel such as Inspectors, Investigators, and Compliance Officers to give them a “community of peers” through the resources and utilities provided by the AFDO Web Site.
What is it?
Virtual Access is an online web portal that makes a wide variety of secure, interactive tools and resources available, for the first time, to regulatory (government) field inspectors – at any time – from any computer with internet access for only $15 per calendar year...starting January 1, 2008.
Who can participate?
Regulatory Field Inspectors – defined as non-management regulatory (government) agency employees who spend greater than 75% of their time out of the office conducting inspections, investigations and sample collections.
Virtual Access offers the following features:
- Online Training - Training videos, secure webcasting and interactive PowerPoint presentations
- Video Conferencing – With corresponding presentations - learning from the comfort of your office or home
- Forums – (Coming Soon!) Virtual bulletin boards allowing interactive online message postings and member discussions
- Conference - Receive member discount rate on AFDO Conference and Workshop training events
- Contact Management – Contact information on other Virtual Access participants as well as AFDO members with E-mail links (cannot be copied/exported)
- Document Manager – Allows key documents to be stored in a protected “virtual file cabinet” and their versions to be archived
- Resources, News and Information – Links to online news and information from various media sources, Federal & state agencies, and other sites
- Committee Membership & Participation – Private committee areas are controlled by enrollment and are geared toward committee activities and their members
- Surveys/Polling – Online instant surveys/polling allowing AFDO to gather responses and report on results
- Presentation Center – (Coming Soon) Allows presentations to be stored in a searchable and viewable web document library
- Journals and Publications – Online AFDO Journal and 25% discount on AFDO printed publications
- Group Calendars – (Coming Soon) Private and public calendars are available for event publicizing
- Future Resources – Future resources will be dictated by Virtual Access needs and requirements to achieve AFDO’s mission and objectives
How does one enroll?
- Complete the Agency Personnel Listing for AFDO Virtual Access [Open Excel Template] with the names of those qualifying personnel that you’d like to enroll in Virtual Access.
- E-mail the spreadsheet to afdo@afdo.org with “Virtual Access Enrollment” as the subject for entry into our online portal.
- Complete the Agency Submission for Virtual Access [Open Word Template] and print, on your agency’s letterhead.
- Mail the following to AFDO (2550 Kingston Road, Suite 311, York, PA 17402):
- Original Agency Submission letter (on your letterhead)
- Copy of Agency Personnel Listing (to ensure accuracy)
- Payment of $15 per person payable to AFDO per calendar year
