USDA Announces Grain Inspection Advisory Committee Appointments

@FDACommissioner

  • ·       As part of our effort to address the global health challenge of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), @US_FDA supports the development of next-generation sequencing (NGS)-based diagnostics to help health care providers identify and treat the right pathogen.
  • ·       To help build NGS infrastructure, our database called FDA-ARGOS, makes publicly available quality-controlled microbial reference genomes for diagnostic use. https://bit.ly/31np2y2
  • ·       The FDA team is looking for unique, hard-to-source microbes like biothreat organisms, emerging pathogens & AMR-related pathogens to help improve the database. We encourage the community to share microbe samples here: https://bit.ly/2WISMXz
  • ·       More work needs to be done to address AMR concerns and together we can harness genomic data to help in this fight.

@FrankYiannasFDA

@US_FDA

  • ·       Today, at the FDA’s request, @USMarshalsHQ seized 300,000+ containers of dietary supplements from Life Rising Corporation, due to good manufacturing practice violations. FDA is discouraging consumers from purchasing/using these products. More: https://go.usa.gov/xmhDg

@DrAbernethyFDA

  • ·       Science-based policy and deliberate, thoughtful, and quick-as-possible decision-making are critical as FDA evaluates the way forward for CBD. Safety, public health & public access all need to be considered. To learn more:
