Inspector Certification through ORA-U
Whereas, The Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO) has embraced the education and training system called ORA-U which combines classroom training, Web-based training, on-the-job training and auditing to form a one-step source of training and development for regulatory officials, and
Whereas, AFDO recognizes this comprehensive system as a critical element for enhancing uniformity and advancing the concept of a more integrated public health regulatory system, and
Whereas, AFDO believes ORA-U will become a cornerstone for the maintenance and development of knowledge and skills for field personnel who deal with food, drugs and medical devices, therefore be it
Resolved, That AFDO ask FDA to establish ORA-U as a source for accredited public health certification of officials who have successfully completed the required courses for a specific area, and be it further
Resolved, That this accredited certification be nationally recognized as adequate for any of the specific programs created in ORA-U, and be it further
Resolved, That AFDO pledge to work with FDA to develop this certification system.
